Sustainability

Sustainability at Ghanbari Emmam

Responsibility is part of our design language—rooted in durability, local production, and inclusivity.

Our Pillars

  • Made in Cologne (Germany) — pattern cutting to final garment, under transparent and fair conditions.
  • No seasonal cycles — small runs only, avoiding overproduction and markdown waste.
  • Longevity-first design — durable textiles, robust construction, repair support.
  • Inclusive by design — gender-neutral silhouettes and sizing with adaptable fit.

Preferred Materials

We prioritize resilience, traceability, and a reduced footprint:

  • Heavy, durable cotton canvas
  • Wool (preferably from leftover stocks / deadstock)
  • Upcycled leather scraps sourced locally
  • Recycled blended fabrics when available

We continuously review our list as new local or recycled options become available. Conventional virgin synthetics are avoided whenever possible.

Circularity in Practice

  • Small series only to prevent excess stock.
  • Leftover fabrics repurposed into accessories or integrated in new styles.
  • Samples reused for presentations or archived—never destroyed.
  • Repair & aftercare support available via our Cologne studio (contact us).

Packaging & Materials Safety

  • No single-use plastics for showcase or shipping.
  • Recyclable paper/cardboard with high recycled content; minimal packaging.
  • In-store, customers can opt for no additional wrapping.

Care & Longevity

We design for years of wear. Simple care extends life:

  • Air out between wears; wash cold and gently when needed.
  • Spot-clean sturdy canvases; avoid over-washing wool.
  • Condition upcycled leather sparingly; store away from heat/sun.

Inclusion

Our collections are gender-neutral and not bound to strict age or body categories. We cast and collaborate across diverse backgrounds and abilities, and we build adaptable fits to broaden access.
